DIY - Perfect espadrilles for a Garden Party

Make beautiful trendy and seasonal espadrilles !

Material

1 pair of espadrilles
Ribbons and croquets of different width and colour (35 cm each)
Odif Odicoat
Flat brushes
Parchment paper
Sewing pliers
Scissors
Iron
Hot embossing device

Step 1

Coat the side of the sole and sew the espadrilles with a layer of Odicoat with the wide flat brush.

Step 2

Allow to dry for 1h and then run the hot embosser to fix the Odicoat.

Caution: Do not use the embosser too close or too long in the same place to avoid burning the Odicoat and the sole.

Step 3

On the upper of the espadrille, using the thinner flat brush, coat the width of the chosen ribbon with Odicoat and glue the ribbon in place.
Hold it for a few minutes with the sewing clips.
Repeat the same operation on the other espadrille.

Step 4

Continue by gluing ribbons and croquets, alternating the colors and leaving from time to time a space between the ribbons to let the color of the espadrille appear.
Cover the entire top of the espadrille.
Finish by applying a regular layer of Odicoat over the entire boot of the espadrille.
Let it dry for about 1h then slide a cloth into the espadrille to keep it in shape and iron the entire upper protecting the surface with parchment paper.
