to make a fabric barrier mask to go out covered and protected.

Material

  • Odif 808 Reactivable Adhesive
  • Cotton cretonne (20 x 42 cm) (toto)
  • 2 elastic bands (7 mm x 21 cm) (toto)
  • Fabric scissors
  • Iron,
  • Pins
  • Sewing machine
  • Baking paper
  • Odif mask pattern

1/ Preparing the pattern

  • Download then print the mask pattern in real size.
  • Protect your work surface. 
  • Place the pattern against your surface. 
  • Shake Odif 808 Reactivable Adhesive well. 
  • Spray evenly a thin layer at 25 cm.
  • Allow to dry completely.

  • Let the Odif 808 Reactivable Adhesive dry completely.

2/ Cutting the mask

  • Place on the back of the fabric (washed and ironed beforehand) the back of the sprayed pattern.

  • Iron on satin position to activate the adhesive.

  • Cut all around the pattern.
  • Cut a 5 mm notch as shown all around the pattern.
  • Remove the pattern from the fabric.

Tip: The pattern is no longer sticky but the adhesive can be reactivated several times with the iron. This way you can use the same pattern for several masks.

3/ Sewing the mask

  • Fold the fabric in half, back to back along the fold, mark it with your fingers.
  • Mark the hems in the same way.

  • Form the folds by following the previously cut notches and hold them with pins.
  • Do the same operation on the reverse side of the fabric.

  • On the right side of the fabric, pin the elastics as shown on the pattern.

  • Fold in half, right side against right side, along the fold.
  • Place the folds face to face.
  • Pin.
  • Fold one hem and fold the second hem over the first hem.
  • Pin.

  • Stitch at 1 cm from the edge (by machine or by hand).

  • Turn the mask over.

  • Hold the hems by a stitch at 2 mm from the edge.

  • For each end, close the opening (taking all thicknesses) with a stitch of 1.5 cm at 5 mm from the edge.

  • The opening allows you to slide a piece of paper tissue that can be replaced very regularly.
  • This mask is a barrier mask.
