Upcycling idea.

Make very pretty boxes with old cans and the Odif Gesso.

Material

  • 4 empty cans
  • 30 x 30cm thick white felt
  • Thick linen twine
  • Large wooden beads
  • Croquet and white ribbon
  • 2 A4 sheets of photocopier paper
  • Odif 404 Repositionable Adhesive
  • Odif 303 Permanent Adhesive
  • Odif White Gesso
  • Odif Odicoat
  • Odif matt varnish
  • Scissors
  • Perforators fantasy: flocon, circle
  • Crank scissors fancy festoon pattern
  • Syringe and glue brush

  • Perforate 10 to 15 flaky patterns and circles in white paper.
  • Cut 10 strips 1 cm wide with scissors and 4 strips scalloped 1.5 cm wide

  • Spray the Odif 404 adhesive on the back of the cut-out patterns step 1 and stick them on clean and blank cans with any traces of glue.

  • Spray the Odif White Gesso on the boxes in several thin layers.
  • Remove paper masks and varnish the boxes with Odif matt varnish.

  • Spray the Odif white gesso on the lids.
  • In the white felt, cut out 2 circles of each size for each lid.
  • Glue the circles of each size 2 by 2 with the Odif 303 Permanent Adhesive.

  • On each box lid, glue the circles by decreasing size with the Odif Odicoat.
  • Glue the ribbon and croquet to the boxes with the Odif Odicoat by placing it in a net with the syringe.
  • At the top of each lid, with the Odif Odicoat, stick a wooden bead threaded onto a string loop.

Tip
  • Clean the traces of glue on the cans with the Odif DK5.
  • Open the boxes with a special «sharp edges» opener that can be found in all supermarkets or on the internet.
